Fundraising with Babs Boxer

The Dems are Winning!
PAC for Change is still wearing the same diapers. Its creator and fundraising entrepreneur, Senator Barbara Boxer, has sent a fundraising e-mail: How Democrats got their groove back. She tells her would-be contributors that the Democrats are winning because, she says, America is losing both a home and abroad.
Where'd we put the champagne?
But her fundraising missive reveals all they have. It is like putting a voodoo elephant doll in a jug of waste water and calling it art.
Here we go:
(read on...)
It all started in the Senate on November 1st when our Democratic leader Harry Reid, sick and tired of Republican excuses for their slow-moving investigation into the Bush Administration's manipulation of Iraq pre-war intelligence, decided to take the Senate into a rare "closed session" to force action from Republican Leader Bill Frist and Intelligence Committee Chairman Pat Roberts.
The American people deserve a thorough investigation into the Bush Administration's misuse of intelligence, misleading statements, and repeated misjudgments during the lead-up and ongoing conduct of the Iraq war. Democrats have been asking for this investigation for more than 20 months. Now, thanks to Harry Reid's brilliant tactical maneuver, the Republicans' continued efforts to scuttle this critical inquiry have been exposed -- and the investigation is moving forward..
What action did they force? Nothing changed:
Appearing on CNN's "American Morning," Roberts said his staff informed Democrats of the status of the investigation "just two days ago."
He said his staff told Democrats the committee was completing "Phase 2" of its investigation.
Roberts accused Democrats of pulling a political "stunt" when Minority Leader Harry Reid made the motion Tuesday.
"Brilliant tactical maneuver"? When the rubber hit the road, Reid played into GOP hands by exposing how fragile and insubstantial his operation really is.
But back to that woman, Ms. Boxer, and her appeal for the filthy lucre:
Then, just one week later, our Democratic momentum continued with a sweep of the governorships in New Jersey and the red state of Virginia, followed by a resounding rejection of every one of Governor Schwarzenegger's so-called "reforms" in California.
That Tuesday was a bad day for the Doug Forrester, Jerry Kilgore, and Arnold, to be sure. Schwarzenegger's still swinging, though, and the day did nothing for the National Dems. California, New Jersey, Virginia. Now it's on to Florida, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas… "YEAAARRRRGH"? Hardly.
But Babs is optimistic. She warns the Dems not to rest on their laurels after their stunning streak of victories:
But don't be fooled, we still have a long way to go to achieve our end goal: Changing the Congress and bringing Democratic majorities to the Senate and House.
Let's keep our eyes on that prize, and do everything we can over the next 12 months to make it happen -- starting right now.
Contribute to PAC for a Change today!
Barring properly acknowledged good news from Iraq, there remains an outside chance the Dems could retake the House. The Senate? Naaah. But the Democrats can keep their eyes on that prize anyway, by sending her their money.
She lists three issues on which the Dems are beating the Republicans: the war in Iraq (Jack Murtha), the Joe Wilson scandal™ (maybe Rove next), and gas prices ("$3 per gallon").
A House of Sand is an empty work of art. (Spare us the bilge, Babs.)

putting a voodoo elephant doll in a jug of waste water and calling it art.
I pay good money for that art. It gets withheld from every paycheck.
;-)
And I say that in all seriousness. Ms. Boxer & Co.'s greatest problems occur when they start opening their mouths.
When they think they are tasting blood of Bushitler Inc., they start to lose their small semblance of self restraint and the public sees them for either a) the shameless opportunists who would rather see us fail in Iraq as long as it means they get to bash Bush or b) even worse the self-loathing American hating nihlists that many of them are.
The smartest thing Mr. Rove could do right now is to bait the hell out of them into amplifying their calls for immediate withdrawal, so that there can be as stark a contrast as possible with strategy on Iraq Bush has (finally) started to articulate.
The few smart Dems are trying to pull back from the brink (Hillary's trying to play both sides of the fence and I think Biden even called Bush's speech something along the lines of "a step in the right direction"). But with a little bit of "encouragement" IMO the dumber, harder core left will drag the dems right over the cliff in their blind desire to tear into Bush.
Give 'em enough rope.
"She lists three issues on which the Dems are beating the Republicans: the war in Iraq (Jack Murtha), the Joe Wilson scandalTM (maybe Rove next), and gas prices ("$3 per gallon")."
murtha also opposed gulf war 1, which may be the most successful war in US history. the more i read(and anyone taking the time to read) about wilson, the more i question his motives and i've seen gas down to 2.01 in Houston, although that still may work out to $3 in CA.
...is down to under $2.35-ish per gallon. I'm sure Boxer will dream up a reason why it's all due to her scolding of the oil company execs. On another note, her novel is up to #9,632 on the Amazon sales ranking :-)
... Jack Murtha will have been proven so erroneous that he will be reduced to pumping Karl Roves $1.75 a gallon gas as Rove, still employed, drives to the White House. All 3 'issues' will not exist, leaving the Democrats yet again with no platform to run on.
Boxer is fully under the control of her special interest groups. She was on the Michael Medved show the other day, and when the subject moved to abortion, she was unable to ustter the words Pro-Life. If Medved said the phrase "Pro-Life" she would counter with "Anti-Choice". It is amazing how abrasive that phrase sounds when repeated.
The only thing I wish was that Medved would ocassionally have tossed in the phrase "Anti-Life".
has already taken credit in an interview with Neil Cavuto.
I figured her middle name was "The".
if your a masochist and the scars have healed from the last beating it was a great letter. i do yearn for enumerated constitutional powers, but just this once, could we finance a national, coast to coast chain of state of the art S& M shops. Maybe liberals would leave us alone while they lick their wounds happily and in private.
I truly regret that my junior senator is a national embarassment. I can only say that I have never voted for her, and think the average potted fern is better qualified for a seat in the Senate.
The Democrats really do still think that we are living through an abberation and all they have to do to return to power is obstruct and beat down the Republicans. So far they have done nothing, and don't seem to be thinking about doing anything, to expand their still shrinking base.
When the curtains close in Nov. '06 (barring some yet to occur Democratic awakening), the fundamentals will be basically the same. The country is in a majority conservative mood at the moment. The various foibles of the Republicans, both real and perceived/manufactured, have done little to change this...
Let's keep our eyes on that prize
the prize being fundraising money?
You are correct . . . at least a potted fern is not WRONG all the time. That's especially important when wrong can equal dangerous.
The trick is getting the signatures to get the potted fern on the ballot. First, start with a good name. How about, Fern Potter?
Simone, are you ready???? We may need you.
terrorists.
It is interesting to compare the war on terror with the Cold War. During the Cold War, most Americans were united against the Soviets. Many American liberals felt sympathy for and even kinship with the Soviets.
Ultimately, despite all of the horror stories which were proliferated during the 80's about how the Cold War would result in nuclear winter, the Reagan-Bush policy of negotiation from a position of strength (not least of which was Reagan's refusal to consider Gorbachev's plea to end our planned Strategic Defense Initiative) actually resulted in the United States winning the Cold War.
The liberals ended up on the wrong side of history. It was left for them to try to tap-dance around the question of why the Soviet Union fell apart. ("They didn't do communism right. If they had done it right, they would have won. Blah, blah, blah.")
And liberal senators like John Kerry who voted against Reagan's SDI plan at every opportunity had to beg to be allowed to attend Mr. Reagan's funeral and bask in the reflected glow of greatness.
Now liberals have hijacked the Democratic Party again. This time, they're on the wrong side of a war in which thousands of innocent American civilians were killed on September 11th.
The liberals want to sue for a peace treaty with terrorists. Do they really expect to get one?
Or is it that liberals think that cutting and running in Iraq is a good long-term strategy?
If so, they're wrong.
History will prove them wrong.
It is sad to see so many Americans hopelessly beguiled by such a trecherous force. American liberals are the unwitting (or, perhaps, "witting") agents of foreign terrorists.
John Kerry is an abomination

The woman is detached from reality. Listening to her is like listening to some tired Party hack from East Germany droning on about the "triumphs" of the Party in "leading the nation into the future". I'm waiting for "the running dogs of capitalism" next.
